HISTORY
KANEMASAは、1964年創業のカネマサ莫大小株式会社（以下、カネマサ莫大小）より発足した歌山県和歌山市を拠点にする丸編みニットメーカーのオリジナルブランドです。
ハイゲージに特化した独⾃の編機、様々な柄を⾃由に表現できるジャガード機、これらの編機を⾃在に操る特有の技術、職⼈技を未来に存続させるために、2021年SSシーズンから、自社ブランド KANEMASAは誕生しました。
ブランドのアイコンであるロゴは、Clement Johant氏が手がけ、創業当初の1960年代の時代背景と欧州の文化を融合するデザインが完成しました。
CONCEPT
「FUTURE CLASSIC / FUTURE VINTAGE（フューチャークラシック/フューチャーヴィンテージ）」をコンセプトに、私たちは“いま”考える未来の服を創造します。

The 36G Raglan Heather Pullover embodies KANEMASA PHIL.’s unique expertise in fabric development.
Crafted on a 36-gauge terry knitting machine—the only one of its kind in Japan—this iconic “new standard” pullover offers an unprecedented texture and comfort.
Its most distinctive feature is the original heather-effect fabric. By producing the heather yarn from scratch and applying an additional dyeing process after the yarn has been dyed, the brand creates a deep heather effect that cannot be achieved through conventional methods. The delicate hues, which shift in appearance depending on how the light hits them, are a testament to KANEMASA PHIL.’s sophisticated textile design.
Furthermore, by blending nylon yarn into the core, the garment achieves high stretch and a soft, springy feel. Combined with the beautiful knit pattern and elegant sheen unique to a 36-gauge super-high-gauge knit, the result is a sophisticated look—even for a sweatshirt.
The silhouette is the brand’s signature raglan pullover, featuring a comfortably relaxed fit. The pattern—meticulously designed down to the armholes, body width, and neckline—maximizes the fabric’s natural drape and three-dimensional shape.
The ribbed sections feature a blousing stitch, creating a natural gather that enhances the relaxed silhouette. The rounded boxy silhouette looks great worn on its own or layered beautifully over a shirt.
Additionally, the garment undergoes tumble drying during the manufacturing process to minimize shrinkage after washing, ensuring a stable fit that will last for years.

“KANEMASA PHIL”
HISTORY
KANEMASA is an original brand of a circular knit manufacturer based in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture, established by Kanemasa Mokutai Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Kanemasa Mokutai”), which was founded in 1964.
To preserve the unique technology required to master these knitting machines—including proprietary machines specialized for high-gauge knitting and jacquard machines capable of freely expressing a wide variety of patterns—as well as the artisanal skills that keep these techniques alive for future generations, the in-house brand KANEMASA was launched in the Spring/Summer 2021 season.
The brand’s iconic logo was designed by Clement Johant, resulting in a design that blends the historical context of the 1960s—when the company was founded—with European culture.

Under the concept of “FUTURE CLASSIC / FUTURE VINTAGE,” we create clothing for the future as envisioned “now.”
